An empty hotel

We are the last ones here. The hotel, with a capacity for over 1500 people is now occupied and open for just us. Julia and I have been moved to the main building, they closed down the house where we used to stay and now we live on the top floor with great views. They are too kind here, keeping this place open for just the two of us. I am not sure if we will still get food, for lunch today they prepared a lot but it was only us in the restaurant. I don't care though, it just gets me a reason to get out of this place and walk to the closest supermarket two kilometers away. It is, however, a strange feeling, living in this massive place with two pools and a lot of space, without anyone else. The lobby, always so full of life and noise is now deserted. The tanning beds are racked up in piles and the bar has the shutters down. Sometimes you meet the security guard, walking around aimlessly or you pass by the reception where there now only one person is working instead of four.

Today I slept until about eleven. They missed me during breakfast because with one person not coming down they notice. I occupied myself, I cleaned my room because room service are not allowed in the rooms anymore. Then I went for a run. In the hotel garden, there are more paths than I have been thinking about and I zig-zagged my way around the area. I even managed to get a full 5K! Back in my room, I put on loud music because now I have nobody to disturb, and danced around like I was at a rave. It felt great, loud house music really gets my blood pumping even when the world outside is grey. The afternoon was spent packing up and changing rooms and now I sit in my new bed, watching the stormy sea outside.

The rest of this day, I don't know what to do with. I will probably start applying for jobs back home. My bank account is empty and with the future of tourism being unknown I will need to find a new path. Maybe I find something even better or maybe it will suck for a while, hopefully I get something and that will be awesome either way.
