Coronantine and the passing of time

So, here I am in the south of Spain. A paradise for seniors where the sun is shining, the ocean is wast and the food is good. Where history comes to life and where the environment keeps you mesmerized. To bad that I can't experience any of it.

I am still in my hotel, still kept in this square meter where I try hard to entertain myself. People ask me what I do all day, and I try to make time pass which has happened without me getting as bored as I thought I would be.

This morning at 3:00 my guests left the hotel with the flight to Sweden. I finally got a message from my boss and an email with the tickets. Me and a colleague spent the afternoon informing the guest and trying to get as many steps as possible in the process. We took the stairs and we went zig-zag to make the most of our time outside of the room. Time passed by and all of a sudden it was dinner and we had our last dinner with Helena, another colleague who got out of this prison this morning to go home. I sent my guests on their way and a few hours later I said goodbye to the last of them who were booked on another flight.

I have been awake since then and for some reason, this day is almost over. I don't know how it happened but I am happy it did. I had breakfast, I went to my room to write. I had lunch and then me and my colleague Julia went for a walk around the hotel. The staff has stopped caring and we can roam around the area rather freely. I am so happy I have this hotel right now. It is big, with a lot of outdoor space where you can collect a few steps. At least I can get some fresh air now and I do not feel as trapped as before.

The situation is getting more strict. The police force is getting stronger and they will stop you straight away to make sure you are not out just for fun. People here are keeping their hopes up, they play the drums and sing together every night at 8:00 pm. I can't take part in this ritual though because I live far from the central area to hear it myself.

It is dinner time now and I will go find Julia in the restaurant. We still have food and accommodation and they have not yet sent us away to the airport like other hotels that have closed down and sent their guests out into the unknown. I appreciate that greatly. The staff here still takes good care of us and I know that I am one of the lucky ones. If I ever had to stay in quarantine in any hotel, this one is definitely the best place to do it.
