How I survive the quarantine

Apparently it is Friday today and according to Rebecca Blacks pragmatic lyrics, that means the weekend starts tomorrow. Days pass by in a blur when you don't have to go to work and it doesn't matter if it is Monday och Sunday when you are not taking part in the outside world anymore. Quarantine keeps the mind free from dates and days and hours pass by without you even noticing.

I keep busy all day long. Even though I am at home and only walk out once a day to get some fresh air and exercise I manage to have things that keep me occupied all day long. Usually, a blog is for you to document your day and for your readers to know what you have been up to during the last 24 hours. When you are in quarantine, there is not a lot to tell but I will provide you with the overall structure of my days inside my little apartment. Not that you really care, but once again this on my list of things to do today so here we go.

Step 1: I sleep in. When I have the chance to get all the rest I want I do it. People say that makes you lazy, that you should start your day early with exercise or some other task. I disagree. What better way to take care of yourself than to get all the sleep that your body needs? Take this time to recharge your battery completely and sleep as long as you want. Even just staying in bed petting your cat for an extra 30 minutes, because, why not? You have the opportunity so seas it!

Step 2: Make a list. Every morning I pour myself a cup of coffee and sit down with my notebook. I write down things I need to or could do today. For example, I had to do my taxes the other day, so I put that on the list. I also put less necessary tasks, such as clean the pipes in the zink and clear my computer of rubbish. I put them down on paper and then I cross them off once I am finished. This gives me a sense of purpose and even though there is no physical reward, I fell really good once a task is done and it is crossed off the list with a thick line.

Step 3: I do what I need to do. I have a list and I do what it says. It doesn't have to be in order at all, I do what I feel like and I prioritize the things that are most necessary. I have fun things on the list as well, like blogging or writing, and I look forward to doing those assignments when I am done the more tedious tasks. I also combine them, like going out with the recycling at the same time as I am going for my run or cleaning the house and searching for jobs in intervals. I try to make it fun, and this might be hard for people to understand, but I actually find it rather entertaining to work in this kind of way.

Step 4: I relax. When I cross the last thing of my list, which usually is cooking dinner, and then I award myself with some rest. I pretend that I have been working all day and I do things like taking a bath, watching a documentary, painting or just chilling on the sofa with my cat. It is not a very interesting life we can all agree on that, but that it makes my days feel more valuable is quite true indeed.

ON FIRE

It is rather funny that I feel almost stressed. I have made myself a list of things I need to do every day so I don't fall into laziness...
